About My Photo I Turned into Canvas Art

In many ways, this photo is the one visual image of a beautiful woman, mother, friend, wife and human being whose life was taken shortyl after this moment was taken. My sister-in-law was insightful, intelligent, sensitive, curious, and tuly a person who lived for her family. Brendan(9), Evan (6) and Connor (4) live now as a reminder of her presence and now her loss here on earth.
This photo was taken at Carolina Beach on Thanksgiving 2007. We laughed at the crazy attempts to get 3 sand digging dogs, 3 active and sometimes inattentive boys , 2 parents who complained of being cold and 4 remaining tired adults to come together and make a canvas for our parent's surprise 50th wedding anniversary. And what a surprise it was- the party was amazing and the gift of the canvas was met with much tears and genuine joy. Looking back, all the attempts and the memories of Sue saying "Oh, my hair and the forehead" all happened for reasons we would never have known at the time it was taken. Sue died unexpectedly in June 2008 of a pulmonary embolism- a completely healthy conscious woman who took care of herself. Suddenly gone and leaving behind my incredible brother and 3 nephews. We cry and feel such loss over passing and yet there is joy and a time to give thanks that we were all blessed with this lovely person. Thanks to the canvas, Sue and our entire family rest on our parent's walls. We know now why that day back in November 2007 happened- it was to have just one more way to see Sue in our lives and to love her.

Linda : My husband and I met Paula and George through our mutual adoption of 2 laboratory rescue beagle "sisters". They have become wonderful friends over the years and we have heard so many beautiful, loving things about Sue. It was such a tragedy to lose someone so young, vibrant and special; we know as we lost 8 family members and friends over the last year all in that same category. Maybe God has a purpose for the good dying young, but for certain, Sue is with him and watching over everyone she loved. Our thoughts, prayers and hearts are with her friends and family today and always. Linda and Dom Seville - New Jersey Friday, November 21, 2008
