If you’re thinking about having a canvas printed, here are a few ideas for photos that make great prints on canvas:
Canvas Prints Process for Traditional and Premium Gallery Wraps
We have a few different processes for printing on canvas depending on the type of wall art you order. Each process results in high quality home decor and custom wall art delivered straight to you!
Our Traditional Gallery Wraps are our classic canvas product and offer a museum-like finished product. Traditional Gallery Wraps come in all of our most popular sizes, but we also offer custom sizes from 8”x8” all the way up to 55”x100.” Each size is available in two frame depths to best fit your needs. Thick wrap is suggested for large or oversized canvas art to provide maximum durability. Thin wrap works best for smaller canvases or those that are being framed.
You can also opt to have your Traditional Gallery Wraps framed before they ship to you. We offer an expansive selection of framing options to match your image or home decor style.
The process for creating a Traditional Gallery Wrap starts once you place an order. After an order is received, it goes to a team of reviewers who will look at all aspects of your order, including the image, to ensure it’ll look great when printed. We recommend uploading images that are 1 MB in size or larger as they almost always retain their quality when the picture is blown up to canvas print size. Most images taken on mobile phones will meet this requirement, so no need to stress about finding an image that will work to print on canvas.
Just be careful not to take images from Facebook, Instagram, or anywhere on the web as the images are likely compressed and will not look good when enlarged. Images from professional photographers or pictures taken on DSLR cameras will also most likely meet this size requirement. Reviewers will also ensure the colors in your photos pop so that your canvas print will look its best when hung on the walls of your home or office. If you’ve selected any retouching options, reviewers will take care of that at this point in the process before sending your image to print on canvas.
If reviewers notice any issues with your order, they’ll be sure to contact you before proceeding. If your order is all set, they’ll send it to our print team who will oversee the printing on canvas portion of creating your wall art. Though the printing process may vary based on the type of canvas prints ordered, rest assured that your image is getting printed on some of the highest quality canvas material available. Traditional prints are made using giclee, or large scale, printers and high quality inks that preserve the integrity of your photo.
Once your prints on canvas have been created, our fantastic team of framers will build a custom frame, or stretcher bar, for your image to be stretched around. These frames are not visible when looking at your finished print on canvas but provide durability to ensure your photo art lasts for years to come.
After your frame is made, our specialists will stretch your canvas around the stretcher bar, add hanging hardware, and give the finished product to our shipping team.
Your canvas will arrive at your door ready to hang. All you’ll need to do is have a hammer handy for the installation process.
Beyond Traditional Gallery Wrap prints on canvas, we also offer Premium Gallery Wraps. Premium Gallery Wraps are made using our patented design and follow a different proprietary process. This type of photo art comes with a black mat board backing and sawtooth hanging hardware already attached to make hanging your prints on canvas easier than ever before. This lightweight option for a print on canvas is stunning in person and will surely make your space more stylish!
